2. Permitted and Prohibited Use

EU Trace is provided for validating, auditing, and generating e-invoices in compliance with EN 16931, XRechnung, and ZUGFeRD. You may use the API for your internal business purposes or to serve your clients, subject to these Terms. You agree not to misuse the service, attempt unauthorized access, disrupt the API, or use automated scripts or bots to scrape data without written permission. You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with all applicable laws and regulations.

3. Intellectual Property and Copyright

All content, SDKs, documentation, JSON mapping specifications, trademarks, logos, and intellectual property on EU Trace — except for third-party data — are the property of Kairosys GmbH or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without express written permission. Third-party data (including regulatory schemas and open-source components) are subject to their respective licenses, and Kairosys GmbH does not claim ownership of such data. 4. User Content and Submissions

You retain ownership of any data, payloads, or content you submit to the EU Trace API. You grant Kairosys GmbH a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to process, store, and transmit such data solely to provide the service. If you submit feedback, suggestions, or feature requests, you grant Kairosys GmbH a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display such content for the purpose of improving the service. You are solely responsible for any content you submit and agree not to submit unlawful, offensive, or infringing material.

5. Third-Party Links, Content, and Data

EU Trace may reference third-party websites, regulatory sources (e.g., KoSIT, BMF, European Commission), or open-source components. Kairosys GmbH does not endorse or assume responsibility for any third-party content. Links to external resources are provided for convenience only, and we do not guarantee the accuracy, relevance, or completeness of external content. Use third-party resources at your own risk.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

EU Trace is provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis. Kairosys GmbH makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, reliability, or availability of the service or its content. We do not guarantee that the service will be error-free, secure, or continuously available. The compliance validation results provided by EU Trace do not constitute a legally binding certification. Use of the service is at your own risk.

7. Limitation of Liability and Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Kairosys GmbH and its affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service. Liability is limited to intent and gross negligence. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Kairosys GmbH from any claims, damages, or expenses resulting from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the service.

8. Changes to Terms and Updates

Kairosys GmbH reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to this page with reasonable notice to users via email. 9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of EU Trace shall be resolved in the courts of Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
